About the Owner

Thailer S. Powell is the owner and President of Day & Knight Security Protection, bringing over a decade of specialized experience in the security industry with particular expertise in hotel security management at large resort-style properties in Las Vegas, Nevada, and now serving nine counties across Southern California.

As a combat veteran, Thailer served nearly 12 years as a Military Police Officer, including a distinguished deployment to Afghanistan where Thailer led a protective detail responsible for safeguarding generals and high-ranking government officials. During this deployment, Thailer was awarded a Combat Action Badge in recognition of her active engagement in ground combat operations. In preparation for this critical assignment, Thailer received specialized training from the U.S. Secret Service in VIP protection and high-threat environment operations. Thailer's extensive law enforcement background provides the foundation for her company's commitment to professional security services.

Thailer serves as an officer with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, where she dedicates significant time to veteran outreach programs supporting the veteran community. Her commitment to service extends beyond her military brothers and sisters to the broader community through her role as a board member of Mosaic Movement, where she has never missed a single event.

What makes Thailer's story particularly powerful is her journey from childhood trauma to military service to community leadership. Having experienced severe abandonment, physical abuse, and homelessness as a child—including sleeping in the front seat of a pickup truck with her mother—Thailer understands firsthand the challenges faced by the vulnerable populations that Mosaic Movement serves.

After getting out of the United States Army Thailer founded Day & Knight Security Protection to provide independent, loyal, and reliable service to clients, Thailer is currently pursuing a law degree specializing in contract law, with a dedicated emphasis on nonprofit law—a field she is passionate about due to her deep commitment to serving the nonprofit community through pro bono legal services.

Thailer's connection to Mosaic Movement began in a college communications class taught by founder Yvette Williby, where she found not just an educator, but a chosen family. Today, her entire family—including her wife, who serves as a Director for Mosaic, and her biological father, whom she met at age 33—are active supporters of the organization.

A devoted dog lover and advocate, Thailer is accompanied everywhere by her service animal, George, who serves as both companion and testament to the healing power of unconditional loyalty—a value that permeates both her personal life and business philosophy.
